This viewpoint has been perpetuated by (inter)national textbook publishers, often limiting learners’ exposure to other varieties and cultures where English is used to communicate across different scenarios. Although EFL teachers widely recognize the use of ELF in many domains, the difficulty remains in how to implement ELF-aware lessons in their contexts. Consequently, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses can play a key role in promoting greater awareness of ELF and how ELF awareness may be implemented to equip learners for real-life communication. This article focuses on the initial modules of the CPD course developed by the ENRICH Erasmus+ project, and explores ELF, identity and use, ownership, Standard vs. Non-standard English, intercultural communication, among other relevant concepts. Subsequently, some practical examples of ELF-aware tasks are presented. Ranging across different educational levels, these samples illustrate ELF-aware tasks where issues of linguistic and cultural diversity are promoted. Additionally, this article examines Portuguese teachers’ feedback from the CPD course, with the purpose of gauging their overall understanding of ELF and ELF-awareness in ELT. First, it examines qualitative and quantitative data from an online survey concerning the ECRs’ needs analysis and their perceptions of research activities. Data are divided into the following sections: information regarding the ECR’s communities; cultures of research; research governance and choices; researcher positionality and reflexivity; and personal understanding of research activities. It then goes on to discuss the issues and emerging themes related to the data presented and discussed in the previous sections. In essence, one of the main goals of the EUREDIE project is to identify the needs of ECRs so they can plan and carry out research proj- ects that are sensitive to the inherent interculturality and represent diversity, regardless of the speci!c subject they investigate. Written, for the most part, between 1664 and 1665, the fragments of the História do Futuro that have come down to us, attached to Vieira’s inquisitorial process, are working texts, unpolished versions, which, therefore, may eventually reveal some marks of the “classic” period of Portuguese. On the other hand, taking into account that Vieira’s training in spelling falls within the “etymological” period and that his reputation places him among the “good authors”, also in terms of spelling, we seek to identify the conservative and innovative marks and, eventually, the manifestation of an individual practice, which, as is known, was, in Vieira’s time and until the beginning of the 20th century, a notorious trend, particularly among great writers. A análise centra-se na documentação oficial, como leis e decretos vigentes. É um estudo de natureza qualitativa de base bibliográfica e documental. O estudo procura responder como se apresenta a política de (co)oficialização e direitos linguísticos no país. Tm-se como objetivos: i) analisar a legislação vigente sobre o estatuto das línguas, direitos linguísticos e ações (políticas) do estado e dos falantes; ii) discutir a diversidade linguística, partindo da socio-história do falar e (algumas) particulares das línguas oficializadas ou com algum direito previsto na legislação. A análise está centrada nas línguas: português, língua gestual portuguesa, mirandês e barranquenho. Concluímos que nas duas primeiras décadas do século XXI diversas iniciativas políticas em prol das línguas minoritárias e multilinguísmo no país têm posto em pauta a promoção, preservação e (re)vitalização das línguas em Portugal, porém há uma emergência de investimento no ensino, produção escrita nas línguas oficializadas e financiamento de estudos científicos – em particular à contribuição dos estudos linguísticos.
