Representações objetais e dor psicológica: um estudo exploratório

Abstract

O objetivo deste estudo exploratório é testar, em adultos da comunidade, como as representações objetais do indivíduo influenciam a existência de dor psicológica. A amostra inicial era constituída por 225 participantes eliminando-se 61 protocolos inválidos. Os participantes, com idades entre os 18 e os 65 anos, procederam à descrição do pai e à descrição da mãe e responderam à Psychache Scale e ao Inventário para Aceder às Memórias de Infância Relativas às Práticas Parentais. Os resultados mostraram que à exceção do nível DR da mãe, da rejeição-materna e da sobreproteção-paterna, as restantes variáveis - rejeição-paterna; sobreproteção­ materna; nível DR para a descrição do pai - se correlacionam significativamente com a variável dor psicológica. Os resultados sugerem que é dado ao papel do pai, uma importância acrescida, em relação ao papel da mãe o que até ao presente não se verificava; ABSTRACT: The aim of this exploratory study is to test, in adults in the community, how the object relations, influences the individual for the existence of psychological pain. The initial sample consisting of 225 participants eliminating 61 invalid protocols. Participants, between the ages of 18 and 65, described the father and the mother and responded to the Psychache Scale and to the lnventory to access the Childhood Memories Related to Parental Practices. The results, it was verified that with the exception of the DR level of the mother, the maternal rejection and the paternal overprotection, the remaining variables - paternal rejection; maternal overprotection; level DR for the description of the father- correlate significantly with the psychological pain variable. The results suggest that the role of the father is given greater importance in relation, regarding the role of the mother, which did not previously exist.
