A tradução de receitas (Inglês-Português): a gastronomia como expressão cultural

Abstract

Neste trabalho de projeto, pretende-se traduzir, de inglês para português, um corpus selecionado de receitas de pastelaria tradicional inglesa. Além da tradução do corpus, será realizada a análise do processo tradutório para explicar as razões que levaram às decisões tomadas durante o processo. A Cat-Tool online matecat. utilizada para auxiliar a tradução. será também analisada do ponto de vista da sua eficácia no desenvolvimento do processo. O trabalho pretende também fazer uma abordagem sobre o papel do tradutor, refletir sobre as questões da fidelidade e visibilidade enquanto características do tradutor. Por último, realizar-se-á uma reflexão sobre a adaptação como uma ferramenta auxiliar da tradução, bem como a funcionalidade e utilidade da tradução técnica; Abstract: Recipes’ Translation (English into Portuguese): gastronomy as a cultural expression It is the aim of the project to translate, from English into Portuguese, a selected corpus of English traditional pastry recipes. Apart from the translation of the corpus, an analysis of the translation process will be done to explain the reasons which led to the decisions taken during the process. The online Cat-Tool matecat used to assist in the act of translation will be analysed from its efficiency role. This work also aims to make an approach on the role of the translator, reflecting on the matters of fidelity and visibility as characteristics of the translator. Lastly, it will be made a reflection upon adaptation as an auxiliary tool of translation, as well as the function and usability of technical translation.
