Núcleo Museológico de São Pedro em Grândola: Reconversão e Valorização Patrimonial no século XXI

Abstract

Com as progressivas transformações que os museus enfrentaram nas últimas décadas, estas instituições consolidaram duas tendências. Por um lado, a reconversão de edifícios históricos em museus tornou-se uma prática recorrente, como é o caso da musealização da antiga Igreja de São Pedro, no Núcleo Museológico de São Pedro, em Grândola. Esta transformação representa uma estratégia de salvaguarda e valorização do património edificado, contribuindo para a preservação da identidade local. Simultaneamente, a função educativa dos museus adquiriu novas dimensões, assumindo-se como um elemento essencial para a aproximação entre o património e a comunidade, garantindo a sua sustentabilidade. Perante a necessidade de reforçar a relação do Núcleo Museológico com a população, no âmbito deste estágio desenvolvido na Câmara Municipal de Grândola, foram concebidas propostas de valorização para todas as faixas etárias, visando promover a participação, a inclusão e a educação patrimonial; São Pedro Museum Center in Grândola: Reconversion and Heritage Enhancement in the 21st century - Abstract: With the progressive transformations that museums have undergone in recent decades, these institutions have consolidated two trends. On the one hand, the reconversion of historical buildings into museums has become a recurring practice, as is the case with the musealization of the old Church of São Pedro, in the São Pedro Museum Center, in Grândola. This transformation represents a strategy for safeguarding and valuing built heritage, contributing to the preservation of local identity. Simultaneously, the educational function of museums has acquired new dimensions, becoming an essential element for bringing heritage and community closer together, guaranteeing its sustainability. Given the need to strengthen the relationship between the Museum Center and the population, within the scope of this internship developed at the Municipal Council of Grândola, proposals for appreciation were conceived for all age groups, aiming to promote participation, inclusion, and heritage education.
